FUNdamentals Recreational Programs are NEW for 2023!
Summer FUNdamentals Paddling
- An opportunity to paddle without the pressure of Training to Compete
- Enjoy time in a supported environment to practice balance skills in those fancy racing boats if you want to give that a try!
- Develop the Physical Literacy skills required to enjoy paddling and progress to new boats!
- Have a game of ping-pong on those windy, windy days and learn more about boating safety to enjoy recreational paddling after leaving Shumway Lake!
- Improve general paddling techniques in a small group and have FUN!
- An opportunity to learn more about the difference between FUNdamentals and our Learn to Train program.
- FUNdamentals help youth gain confidence.
- Youth ages 7-14 years

*** An excellent opportunity for youth to extend their Summer Camp time beyond 3pm!
Program Time:
3:00pm to 5:30pm: Monday to Friday

Week 2: July 10 - July 13 ** No Lesson FRIDAY July 14 ($80.00)

- Enjoy time in a supported environment to practice and learn paddling techniques once a week over four or five sessions.
- Develop the Physical Literacy skills required to enjoy paddling and progress to new boats!
- Receive instruction as a group in a Dragon Boat or a Voyageur Canoe.
- Become proficient with your family and friends at paddling a Clipper Canoe.
- Develop better skills to use a pelican kayak for enjoying explorations around lakes during the summer.
- Try a SUP and learn how to safely stand up and manoeuvre the board on the water.
- Have a game of ping-pong on those windy, windy days and learn more about boating safety to enjoy recreational paddling after leaving Shumway Lake!
- Improve general paddling techniques in a small group and have FUN!
- An opportunity to learn more about the difference between FUNdamentals and our Learn to Train program.
- FUNdamentals help youth gain confidence, especially if a parent joins them for the experience.

KCKC FUNdamentals for New Canadians - Youth | Adult | Family
Kamloops Immigrant Services has partnered with the Kamloops Canoe & Kayak Club to offer FUNdamentals paddling opportunities to Youth, Adults and Families who are new to Canada. We are thrilled to welcome you to Shumway Lake!
